Meet Mrs. Wright
About Mrs. Wright
I am a highly experienced educator with over 30 years of teaching in grades K-8. I hold a master's degree and I am certified by the Texas Agency. Currently, I am a junior high school teacher. I have lived and taught in various locations including Savannah, GA, Abu Dhabi, UAE, Cairo, Egypt, and the DFW area. When not teaching, I enjoy spending time with family, including a loving husband and a 15-year-old son. I love to travel, read, bake, and to play with our cat.
Reading education is a fundamental aspect of a child's development. Phonics and vocabulary are essential components of reading instruction, as they provide the foundation for decoding and understanding words. Individualized instruction allows for personalized learning, which can lead to greater engagement and success. Rather than teaching comprehension as a series of isolated skills, it is important to approach it as a whole, emphasizing the connections between different aspects of reading. By prioritizing these elements, we can help students become confident, lifelong readers.

How can I help?
From Cat in the Hat to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I can work with your child to develop basic reading skills such as sounds and CVC words and help students develop critical comprehension skills that everyone needs to be successful in school and beyond. I begin with a reading inventory that will reveal student strengths and areas of need. From there, an individual learning plan will be created and implemented. With the right support, you child can become an independent, confident reader.
