What to Expect
Sessions are one week in length and will be held in Mrs. Wright's home. Choose morning or afternoon session. Each three hour session will begin with an overview of the day and a quick lesson (no more than 15 minutes). Students will then participate in no less than three experiments or activities related to the day's theme. About half way through the session, we will stop for a snack. Students will bring home the day's creations (where possible) and receive a daily handout explaining a bit about what we learned to share at home. Mrs. Wright will be assisted by her son, Dylan. Why STEM?
STEM education is a valuable investment in our future. It promotes creative thinking, problem-solving, and teaches teamwork. It also provides technological literacy and introduces students to careers they might not have considered otherwise. STEM education helps to close the gender gap and provides many other benefits. Let's empower our students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in 21st century

Meet Mrs. Wright
Thank you so much for your interest in Summer Stem Camp. I am an certified teacher employed by Waxahachie ISD. My experience includes students from kindergarten - eighth grade. I am delighted to offer campers a safe and engaging summer experience. Let the science begin!
Meet Dylan Wright
Dylan will be Mrs. Wright’s assistant during summer camp. In the fall, Dylan will be a junior at Midlothian High School. He participates in choir and jazz band. His favorite subject is history. When Dylan graduates from high school, he hopes to become a professional musician.
Meet Desperado (Desi)
Desi allows us to live in his house. He enjoys singing in the early morning hours, rolling around in catnip, and helping with the laundry. Desi will enjoy STEM Camp in a closed, private room.
